Wan'Dale Robinson (1) awaits a kickoff during the game against South Alabama on Saturday, Aug, 31, 2019, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Freshman all-purpose back Wan’Dale Robinson was named to The Athletic’s freshman All-American second team on Thursday.

Splitting time between wide receiver and running back, Robinson caught 40 passes for 443 and ran 88 times for 340 yards, combining for five total touchdowns. Including his work on kickoff returns, Robinson’s 102.9 all-purpose yards were fourth-best of any freshman in the country.

This now marks the third straight season a Nebraska player has been named a freshman All-American, following wide receiver JD Spielman in 2017 and quarterback Adrian Martinez in 2018.
