NU starting shortstop Ben Kline has elected to transfer from the program.
The sophomore, an Omaha native, hit .242 with 15 RBI in 53 games this spring in his second season as a starter. He announced his decision to transfer on June 8. He has not announced where he will transfer.
“Ben made a decision that was best for Ben, and I wish him nothing but the best,” NU coach Mike Anderson said. “When the season ended, I thought he was pretty set on coming back, but I think there’s a lot of factors that went into the decision.”
