The 2009 Nebraska wrestling team hopes to get a lift from its latest recruits. According to InterMat, a wrestling recruit website, the Huskers signed the fourth best class in the country.

The wrestling team tallied five players ranked in the top-100.

Caleb Kolb of Grove City, Pa. ranked 20th in the country. Kolb wrestled at a 160 pounds for Grove City. He will move up to 174 for Nebraska.

"I think he is one of the top kids in country at his weight," Wrestling coach Mark Manning said. "He is another guy that wrestles with a lot of energy. He is a very hard nose, tough guy that has great genes. He is a guy that we are very excited for."

Also in the top-30 was David Klingsheim of Brentwood, Calif. Klingsheim is one of only 18 wrestlers ever in California history to place in the top-eight four times. Klingsheim plans to wrestle at 125 pounds for Nebraska. He could step in immediately and compete with Andy Pokorny for the spot.

Manning thinks that Klingsheim will be an exciting addition to the program.

"People are going to really like to watch this young man compete because he gets after it," Manning said. "He brings a tremendous desire to be the best to our program."

Also joining the program while being ranked in the top-100 are C.J. Napier, Kody Compton and Kyle Waldo.

Nebraska's five recruits in the top-100 was only matched by fellow Big 12 program Oklahoma State.

Nebraska did sign one in-state recruit.  Michael Klinginsmith a three-time Nebraska state wrestling champion for Kearney Catholic elected to wrestle for Huskers.
