Sophomore infielder/outfielder Jaxon Hallmark earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors for his part in Nebraska baseball’s 3-1 series win against the University of California, Riverside this weekend.
Hallmark batted .444 (8-18) against UC Riverside with two doubles, a stolen base, five runs scored and 10 runs batted in. He also found some action on the mound, pitching 0.2 innings in the second half of Saturday’s doubleheader.
In the season-opener on Friday, Hallmark recorded a career-high four hits and five RBIs in a 21-6 win. He also went 3-4 with four RBIs in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
Hallmark earned a selection to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team last season.
