After a fan vote spanning two weeks, Nebraska announced the new basketball floor design for the 2019-20 season Monday afternoon.

The new court design features a red Huskers script logo on top of the state outline. That court received 42% of the votes in round one, in which voters chose between four different designs. It then received 60% of the votes in round two, which consisted of the top two courts.
The runner-up was court four, which also featured the state outline but had the classic Nebraska “N” over it. That court received 29% of votes in round one and 40% in round two.
With around 40,000 votes across Facebook and Twitter, the fan vote was considered a success, according to Marketing and Multimedia Senior Associate AD Brandon Meier. Because of the overwhelming participation from fans, this may not be the last time there is a fan vote for a new court design.
“Usually it’s like a three to five-year cycle when they get a new floor out,” Meier said. “I’m always for letting the fans weigh in on the direction that we go with these choices, so I’m sure we’ll do it again.”
The court will be made this summer and placed between September and early October, according to Meier.
