Nebraska redshirt freshman wide receiver/running back Miles Jones has put his name into the NCAA Transfer portal, per multiple reports on Monday afternoon.

Jones has played in four games this season but has not recorded a carry nor a catch. As a true freshman, he appeared in one game for Nebraska and finished with a 21-yard reception and a five-yard run in the Huskers’ win over Bethune Cookman. Jones would miss the rest of the season with an undisclosed injury.

Jones was a member of Scott Frost’s first recruiting class at Nebraska, picking the Huskers over numerous schools including Georgia, Kentucky and Wisconsin. He is now the ninth player from the class to leave the program.

After coming to Nebraska with expectations of making an early impact, he has spent the season behind true freshman all-purpose back Wan’Dale Robinson as well as sophomore wide receiver Kade Warner.

The news comes two days after Nebraska suffered a 38-31 loss against Indiana, dropping its record to 4-4.
