The Huskers found their first inside linebacker commit of the 2020 class in 3-star recruit Rodney Groce Jr. from Pleasant Grove High School in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. Groce Jr. made his decision six days after his official visit to Nebraska for the Ohio State game.
Groce represents a statement for the Husker recruiting class, fending off interest from the likes of Auburn and Oklahoma according to 247Sports.
Groce is the 22nd ranked inside linebacker in this year’s recruiting class per 247sports.com.
With Mohamed Barry playing his final season this year, Groce will be looking to find his place amongst a young linebacking core of freshman Luke Reimer and redshirt freshman Joseph Johnson in the next season.
