Husker baseball fans will have to wait even longer for the team’s home opener, as Nebraska’s series against the New Mexico State Aggies originally scheduled for March 15-17, has been canceled due to field conditions, the Nebraska athletic department announced Wednesday.
The athletic department said tickets purchased for the games will be refunded.
This cancelation is just the most recent addition to a growing list of schedule changes for the Huskers. Nebraska's original home-opener against the University of Nebraska Omaha on March 5 was postponed. Then the teams’ series against the Baylor Bears from March 8-10 was moved from Lincoln to Waco, Texas. North Dakota State was scheduled to visit Nebraska on March 13, but that contest was postponed as well.
The next opportunity for a Husker home game is Tuesday March 19, against Air Force.
