The Huskers bowling team won the TrackKat Klash tournament over the weekend, beating the McKendree Bearcats in the championship game on Sunday. 

At the end of Friday, the Huskers finished 5-0 with them at the top spot on the leaderboard out of a total of 16 teams. 

The Huskers beat Youngstown State 1,001-929, Prairie View A&M 986-947, Stephen F Austin 938-881, Alabama State 1,106-821 and Tulane 916-868. The Huskers had a total pinfall of 4,947 on day one, the most by a team all day.

After starting Saturday in first, Huskers fell to second in the leaderboards after a 2-3 finish, posting a total pinfall of 4,807. 

The Huskers lost to Louisiana Tech by 982-887, McKendree 951-937, and Arkansas State 1,047-944. However, they were able to finish off the day with wins against Texas Southern 1,052-824 and North Carolina A&T 987-956.

Also on Saturday, sophomore Cassidy Ray was in second with a total pinfall of 1,088. Senior Raquel Orozco followed in 14th with a total pinfall of 1,010, junior Michelle Guarro was 52nd with 774 and senior Estefania Prieto 71st with 537 pins.

In the first match on Sunday the Huskers faced off against the McKendree Bearcats and went 4-1, winning the first three games before losing one. They bounced back to win the fifth game and advance to the championship match.

In the championship game there wasn’t a change in opponent, as it was a rematch of the previous game against McKendree. 

The Huskers lost the first game 189-170 but was able to win games two, three and four. McKendree took games five and six to bring it to a decisive game seven. The Huskers were able to take the tournament title with a victory in game seven, winning 191-168 over the Bearcats.
