The Nebraska baseball team’s annual Fan Fest is set for Friday, Feb. 1 to kick off the season for fans.

The event will be held in the Hawks Championship Center, adjacent to Memorial Stadium on the north side, from 6-8 p.m. Fan Fest gives supporters chances to meet the players and receive autographs before the team is officially introduced at the end of the event. The team has already been practicing for a couple of weeks.

In addition to the player-oriented activities, there will also be family games and attractions around the facility. Those activities include face painting, games and inflatables, along with a balloon twister and Home Run Derby.

The first 1,000 fans will receive a free meal, courtesy of Husker baseball. The meal consists of a hot dog, bag of chips and bottled water.

The team’s first game is two weeks after Fan Fest. Head coach Darin Erstad and the Huskers will start their regular season on the West Coast with a game against UC-Riverside on Friday, Feb. 15.
