The Makovickas, the Ruuds, and the Steinkuhlers.

All three of these families have one thing in common: several members who've played for the Nebraska football program. It's time to add another name to the list – the Moores.

Tyler Moore, a 6-foot-6-inch, 290-pound offensive lineman recruit, has committed to become the latest member of his family to play Nebraska football.

Moore, a native of Clearwater, Fla., made the decision only days after Nebraska's come-from-behind win against Missouri. The blue chip offensive line prospect held dozens of offers to choose between, but thankfully for Nebraska, his family's roots were with the Huskers.

Moore's Dad, Brian, played tight end for Nebraska in the early 1980s. His uncle is Vince Ferragamo, a first team All-American at quarterback who led Nebraska to a share of the Big Eight Conference crown in 1976. More recently, his cousin Jay played defensive end for the Huskers before being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers.

The family's tradition is not something the youngest Moore took lightly.

"It really is a great tradition that we have with all of us going to Nebraska," Tyler said. "I'm really proud to continue it on."

Moore is only a junior in high school, and with his entire senior year still ahead of him, the recruiting process had really only just begun for him when he committed to Nebraska's 2011 class.

His Dad said he knew Tyler's recruitment wouldn't last long, however.

"(Tyler) wanted to commit to Nebraska after summer camp, but we made him wait," Brian said. "We planned on letting the process go as long as Tyler was enjoying it, and the minute it started becoming stressful, we'd make a decision."

Pegged early on by recruiting insiders as a sure-fire five-star prospect, many schools tried to break up the Moore family tradition.

As a junior, Moore had already received offers from Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and defending national champion Florida. Even with so many prestigious programs after him, Moore said his heart has always been with Nebraska.

"Being a Nebraska fan for such a long time, I've just always wanted to be a Husker," Moore said. "From the outside looking in, many people probably think I'm crazy for not going to Florida because they're at the top right now. But I just love (Nebraska)."

According to his father, Tyler's decision to commit to Nebraska this early in the recruiting process was done out of respect for opposing coaches.

"The Florida coaches, Urban Meyer and everyone else, were so good to us we didn't want to have to tell them no," Brian said. "We thought it'd just be best to let them know now than have them continue putting so much effort into Tyler."

With his college decision already made, Moore can now focus on the rest of his high school career. Countryside High head coach John Davis believes Moore has only scratched the surface of his potential.

"He's still so young only being a junior, but he's going to be outstanding." Davis said. "He's got great feet, he's athletic, he's already 6'6, 290 pounds, and he's a workaholic in the weight room. He's going to be huge, absolutely huge for Nebraska."

His work ethic is well-documented by Davis.

"When I leave to go home at night, he's still in the weight room," Davis said. "He's great in the classroom, too."

Moore's hardworking attitude hasn't just been the result of his recent success. His father says he's always put in the extra effort to succeed.

"His biggest asset is how hard he's willing to work. He's just never satisfied with where he's at," Moore said.

Moore's hard work has already paid off. According to Davis, he's getting to the point where he can contribute early on in his collegiate career. Davis called his left tackle a truly great run blocker and said Moore is his most valuable lineman.
