Nebraska basketball landed a commitment from 2019 French forward Yvan Ouedraogo on Sunday.
I am proud and excited to announce I will be joining the @HuskerHoops program and coach Hoiberg this coming Fall. Looking forward to step foot on campus in Lincoln and get to work. #GBR 🌽 pic.twitter.com/Oizw9jGOcl— Yvan Ouedraogo (@Yvanouedball) May 12, 2019
Ouedraogo, a 6-foot-9-inch, 240-pound forward will add some much-needed size to the Husker roster. With sophomore center Brady Heiman transferring away from the program, Ouedraogo will immediately come in as the tallest player on the team.
Ouedraogo is 17 years old, as he skipped a grade in elementary school. He will come in as a 2019 recruit and be able to play immediately.
He averaged 12.7 points and 9.7 rebounds in the 2018 FIBA U16 European Championship, including a 23 point, 15 rebound performance in the quarterfinals.
Ouedraogo’s commitment is Nebraska’s second of the weekend, as junior guard Shamiel Stevenson announced he would be transferring to the Huskers on Friday.
