True freshman and four-star wide receiver recruit Wan’Dale Robinson was cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana Sunday night, according to Leslie Reed, the public affairs director for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Reed said the university police were contacted after a community service officer smelled marijuana from outside Robinson’s University Suites dorm room. Although three people were present, Robinson was the only one cited.

The search led to police searching Robinson’s car, locating the marijuana and citing Robinson at 11:28 p.m.

This is Robinson’s first offense, Reed said, so the offense is considered an infraction. However, he will need to appear in court, which is scheduled for July 9.

According to 1011 Now, Nebraska Athletics is aware of the situation and are addressing it.
