Former Nebraska basketball player Steve Harley was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Police stopped the car Harley was driving at 32nd and Holdrege streets at around 2:45 a.m., according to Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs.
Harley fled from the officer on foot and was apprehended after a brief chase.
He was jailed on suspicion of failure to comply and driving under the influence, Beggs said. Harley was also cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license and making an improper turn.
He was no longer in jail Sunday evening.
Harley, 23, played guard for NU in its two most recent seasons. The junior college transfer completed his eligibility this spring but did not graduate.
The Temple Hills, Md., native was NU’s second-leading scorer this season at 10.2 points per game. He started 51 games for the Cornhuskers in his career, including every game this season.
