Once a Husker, always a Husker.

Even after 50 years, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's class of 1958 still has it for the Big Red.

Fifty-seven class members and 32 spouses made the trek to Lincoln as part of the 2008 Homecoming celebration, many of who are reuniting for the first time since graduation.

Going into this election, I was excited by our choices.

Even though I may disagree with John McCain on policy issues, I trusted that at his core he was a good and honest man who cared deeply about his country, one that would only act in the country's interest.

Last night, Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin spoke at a rally in Omaha that electrified supporters.

What does this mean for Nebraska? Two things: First, the electoral vote allocated to Nebraska's second congressional district is "in play" - it could go to either John McCain or Barack Obama on Election Day.

One thing was evident during Saturday night's game between Nebraska and No. 4 Missouri - the Tiger offense showed up to play.

The Tigers outrushed, outpassed and outscored the Cornhuskers as MU blasted the Big Red 52-17.
After an historic win against Nebraska, Gary Pinkel was most worried about his team's punting unit.

That's because No. 4 Missouri didn't kick the ball away even one time during its 52-17 demolition of the Cornhuskers at Memorial Stadium.

Out of 10 possessions, the Tigers connected on seven touchdowns and one field goal.

Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz didn't look like a man on the verge of tears at the post-game press conference Saturday. He looked more like a man on the verge of flipping over the podium that was in front of him. Fresh off a 52-17 loss to Missouri, Ganz came to the podium with all of his pain and shame on display for everyone to see.

A prolific offensive attack has been responsible for much of the Nebraska volleyball team's success this season, but NU used a different approach on Sunday at the Qwest Center.

The Huskers used a strong defensive performance to sweep in-state rival Creighton 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-19) and improve to 15-0 on the season.

It's common knowledge the economy isn't doing too well right now. With reports of the stock market falling and numerous companies going under, it's easy to lose hope of attaining a successful job after graduation. As the job market tightens, students are having to be more and more prepared to seek out career paths in the post-college world.

When you can count playing a murderer on a dinner train, pretending to be interested in buying a crossbow at Scheels and dressing up as Eeyore as part of your work history, it's difficult to zero in on what qualifies as a good job experience. In the life of an actor, any gig that doesn't require the donning of tights or the shaving of body hair is a red-letter occasion.

We've all had that one job that just plain sucked.
For some of us, it was our first job: that bad fast-food experience where the boss was just a douche-bag.
The worst job I've ever had was at a local rifle club in Columbus, Nebraska. For starters, I had to work in a makeshift bomb shelter for several hours.

Gaze into the crystal ball and see the not-so-distant future staring back.

Your days at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are nearing an end, and if full-ride scholarships were just not your thing, you've likely spent enough money on your education that even the fellas on Wall Street would give an empathetic groan.

It's time to dress to impress.

Dressing for an interview is complicated. The key is striking a balance between a professional, career-oriented attire and an ensemble that is uniquely you.

Dressing professionally means limited jewelry and accessories, closed-toed shoes, no cleavage, no low rise pants and no denim or belly skin.

A little more than a decade ago, a guy by the name of Baz Luhrmann wrote a serenade to graduates that gave them advice on their life after school.

One bit of wisdom:

"Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives.
