I'm writing today to voice what was once disdain but is now more elation for the ongoing negative comments by Matt Perrault, voice of Creighton basketball, both on his radio show and on his blog (mattperrault.blogspot.com) against Nebraska basketball and more specifically, Doc Sadler. For a guy that makes his living by supposedly reporting sports "without a spin," his points of view are subjectively sinister. I just got done reading Mr. Perrault's most recent blog featuring yet another backhanded comment toward NU basketball. Gotta tell you, while it used to annoy me, I absolutely love it now! Nebraska basketball is under Matt's skin so deep, and I couldn't enjoy it more. When Matt Perrault feels so compelled to throw a slight at NU for seemingly every story written about them, well, that just shows me it's killing him. To put it best, everything Matt says about NU basketball is filled with such a compulsive defensiveness, it couldn't be more apparent how much sleep he's losing over the fact that Nebraska's stock is on an upward tick. It's now becoming a joy to watch and listen to. Matt can share and post his one-sided comments about the past irrelevance of the NU basketball program all he wants, but the fact of the matter is that a substantial majority of people just laugh at him now. Credibility? Being objective? Without a spin? They've been gone for a while. Fact of the matter is, people quit listening or taking what Matt says with any seriousness when his positions became too biased and driven by his hatred for Nebraska basketball. Stated differently, when going on his typical NU rant, do his listeners, Creighton and Nebraska fans alike, take what Matt says with any seriousness anymore? Or do they now just roll their eyes because they know his views are driven by his deep-rooted hatred for, and jealousy of, Doc Sadler? Has it affected Matt to the point where he now comes across as a defensive radio host with an obvious bias that seems to be on the verge of an addictive obsessiveness? Yes, indeed. Maybe Matt's just trying to appeal to that diehard Creighton fan base that hates NU (usually college-aged students) but I hope Mr. Perrault is well aware that NU-CU isn't Auburn-Alabama. However, I actually do not think what Matt is saying is an "act" meant to incite; rather, it's pure hatred underscored with obvious insecurity. Well, so be it. Just hope it doesn't come back to bite him in the butt, because it sure looks like things are heading that way. Evan trofholz Omaha, ne

rub it in cause the jays play in a weak conference and thinks they are good
cause they get 20 wins. Fact is Matt loves to post stuff on his blog even more
now that he doesn't let others respond. Most of the replies were great points
to which Matt had no answers to. Funny thing is that he is like most CU fans
that love Husker Football but don't support the Bball team. Makes no sense at
all. I really enjoy when Trav and Matt S. and Brian disagree with all his
points when he tries rippping on NU. His show is a joke and that's why I've
started listening to the zone because it's more entertaining. I got sick of
everything coming back to the patriots in all his arguements and him
consistantly ripping the NU bball program just because he has a sick obsession
with Dana Altman and wishes they could be married. I'm sure he alerted the
station. I'm sure Evan poses a threat. Seriously...Get a life Matt. How you
still have a program on amazes me. And why is Matt searching this info out.
Sounds like he is the stalker.
