Daniel Kleve, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln junior, posted a video Tuesday night in response to criticism of a previous video of him discussing violence and white nationalism.
The video, titled “Official statement on UNL Controversy,” was uploaded by YouTube account “Nebraska Alt Right.” Kleve said the previous video twisted his words during a two-hour long livestream in January.
Kleve said he never called for “actual” violence and the edited YouTube video, posted by “anti-fascist action nebraska,” depicted him inaccurately.
“I was essentially highlighting the fact that violence does no good,” Kleve said. “That ... we should refrain from violence and be more self disciplined.”
