UNL research assistant professor Patricia Wonch Hill was ticketed with three counts of vandalism Tuesday.

Wonch Hill allegedly added googly eyes to campaign signs for Rep. Jeff Fortenberry.

On Oct. 21, LPD was alerted to multiple Fortenberry signs that had been vandalized, Public Information Officer Angela Sands said. LPD’s forensic unit then found Wonch Hill’s fingerprints at three different sites.

The replacement costs for the property damage are estimated at $100, Sands said.

In an email statement to The Daily Nebraskan, UNL spokeswoman Leslie Reed addressed the incident.

"We do not condone vandalism," Reed said. "However, this is a personal legal matter based on actions of a faculty member on their own time, and they will have to take accountability for their actions based on the outcome of the legal process."

This is not the first time Wonch Hill has been charged with vandalism. Last year she was fined $500 in Virginia for vandalizing the home of an NRA lobbyist.
