The University of Nebraska-Lincoln announced on Wednesday, Sept. 17, that one student tested positive for mumps and another student also likely has the disease.

Both of the students live off campus and are being isolated accordingly in order to prevent the disease from spreading, according to UNL’s statement. Even though the students are in isolation, UNL recommends that all students  take the necessary measures to stop the disease from spreading, such as washing hands, covering coughs and avoiding others if they are sick.

If a person thinks they may also have mumps, they can look at the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department website and visit the University Health Center if they have any symptoms.
