Drivers in downtown Lincoln will experience lane closures and detours due to construction for a new skyscraper coming to Lincoln.
On Monday at 8 a.m., all lanes of Q Street between 10th and 12th streets will be closed as a crane is installed at the Lied Place Residences construction site. The installation is slated to be completed by Nov. 15, weather permitting, at which time traffic will again be allowed in the area, according to a media release from the City of Lincoln Mayor’s Office.
Detour signs and digital messages will direct drivers around lane closures to the Que Place Garage entrance and alert traffic of lane changes and closures.
Between P Street and the entrance to the Que Place Garage, 11th Street will be converted to two-way traffic for access to the parking garage. On-street parking and sidewalks in the immediate area will also be closed.
The two south lanes of Q Street have been closed since June for construction and will remain closed after installation is completed, according to the release.
In the release, Lincoln Transportation and Utilities said it appreciates the public’s patience during the installation and encourages travelers to seek alternate routes.
