Lincoln Police Department is investigating the death of Lincoln Public Schools student who died after falling from a downtown parking garage.
The student, 18-year-old Anthony Kirkpatrick, was found dead in an alley next to Que Place Parking Garage yesterday afternoon.
LPD is investing the case as a suicide. Kirkpatrick’s death occurred after a similar death in downtown Lincoln when 28-year-old Monica Martinez fell from a downtown parking garage Monday.
Students who are thinking about suicide or who are concerned about the well-being of a friend should get help immediately. In an emergency, call 911 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. Resident assistants and directors are also trained to provide assistance if needed.
Students, faculty and staff can also make appointments with the Counseling and School of Psychology Clinic at no charge by calling 402-472-1152. The clinic is located in Room 49 of Teachers College Hall and provides therapy for a wide range of concerns.
