On Wednesday, April 29, the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will meet for the last time until August to vote on one appointment and one piece of legislature.
President Roni Miller has appointed Jessie Matthes, ASUN’s administrative technician, as the ASUN treasurer, which the senate will vote to approve. In accordance with ASUN’s bylaws, the position of treasurer is always an executive appointment, according to Miller.
Government Bill 1, if passed, will signify the senate’s approval of the most recent draft of the Student Code of Conduct. The bill also suggests that the student government and student body continue to be involved with any future revisions.
With summer break coming up, Miller said ASUN will be preparing for the fall, regardless of the uncertain situation due to COVID-19.
“We are hoping to coordinate as much as possible with the executive team and newly selected committee chairs to hit the ground running,” she said in a text. “We will stay in close contact with our members and be sure to stay active in our communication with the student body.”
The meeting will take place over Zoom at 6:30 p.m.
