The Association of Students of the University of Nebraska passed four bills by voice vote during its meeting Wednesday.

Senate Resolution No. 4 was brought to the floor by Senator Emile Salame, an agricultural economics graduate student.

The resolution called for transportation between University of Nebraska-Lincoln campuses on Sunday.

"I noticed there was no transportation between City and East Campus on Sunday," Salame said. "It can stop students (on East Campus) from attending even small events on City Campus."

He said ASUN should encourage students to participate in those events and transportation on Sunday could increase their chance to get involved.

It would cost about $4,000 to provide that transportation for one semester, Salame said.

Mike Dunn, from the Progressive Student Coalition, also talked about the 350.org recycling event and mass bike ride that takes place Oct. 24 and 25 at the meeting.

ASUN adopted by voice vote Senate Bill No. 8, which gives ASUN support to those two events.

The recycling event will take place at Memorial Stadium at the football game. There was a similar event last spring.

"We're at least hoping to make this an annual event," Dunn said.

He said that the coordination with ROTC last spring went well.

"(ROTC) said it significantly lowered the amount of trash they had to pick up," Dunn said.

There was debate whether 350.org would cause complaints from people on campus who do not believe global warming exists and that it is man-made. There was a motion to amend the bill and take out several lines that mentioned 350.org.

"To put something (in the bill) we haven't researched fully is irresponsible," Senator Justin Solomon, a junior family sciences major, said.

Dunn disagreed.

"Keeping 350.org would not be an endorsement of the organization," he said.

After that motion failed, Solomon said, "Regardless, this is a great program."

ASUN continued to endorse textbook adoption forms by adopting Senate Resolution No. 2. This resolution had ASUN show support for the program and to remind professors to return their textbook adoption forms.

These forms let the University Bookstore know what books teachers will continue to use and which ones they will not. This allows the bookstore to know which books to buy back, with more used books and greater savings to students.

Speaker Jared Tidemann, a senior political science major, let the senate know that some members of ASUN have met with representatives from the City and East Campus recreation centers as well as the City Campus Health Center to discuss repairs. They are planning on going to Omaha and touring the University of Nebraska at Omaha's new Recreation Center.
