McCain chooses Alaska governor as running mate
Staff reports
Issue date: 8/29/08 Section: News
John McCain picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate Friday, tapping a relatively little-known politician, the Associated Press reported.
Two top aides told the AP of the Republican candidate's choice a few hours before the McCain and Palin appeared at an Ohio rally.
Palin has served as governor of Alaska less than two years, and was mayor of Wasilla before that.
The 44-year-old governor is more than two decades younger that Democratic Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, Barack Obama's running mate.

McCain sure did pick an attractive running mate. Afterall she was runner up in the 1984 Miss Alaska contest where she played the flute and also won Miss Congeniality. (Continued…)
