The other night I attempted to watch TV - an old Clint Eastwood classic, "Dirty Harry" - while simultaneously studying the rhetoric of Abraham Lincoln for a presentation I needed to put on. However, the strain of late-night multi-tasking over-taxed my system, and I lapsed into a deep sleep. (1) comment

This November, I'm going to vote in my very first presidential election. Say what you will about me, but I'm really excited. You see, I was a registered Independent until I decided that I wanted to participate in the Democratic Caucuses in February. I'm not going to say I've switched to being a Democrat for good, because I just haven't made up my mind yet. But I'm definitely a die hard donkey in this election. (6) comments

That's why this editorial board is glad concealed firearms are banned on University of Nebraska campuses. We understand the need to protect students and everyone else; we just don't see how students running around with concealed handguns will ever actually solve a problem. (47) comments

The article in the Sunday Lincoln Journal Star on faculty political affiliation ("Voter rolls show UNL City Campus faculty leans left," by Redwire's Sam Erb and Samantha Heng) contains a number of data errors and omissions. The authors declare that there are three registered Democrats to each Republican on the campus. (5) comments
