Victory against Texas Tech gives NU confidence

Nebraska's hot hand might not have been a coincidence. In recent weeks, players have been spending extra time in practice just shooting the basketball.
Anderson has even been going back to the Devaney Center to put in extra reps when his homework is finished.
Turns out it wasn't a bad idea. He made eight of his nine attempts on Saturday, including a 3-of-3 performance from the 3-point line.
"It was frustrating to me because (I) got a little in a slump, and I've still been putting in extra work," Anderson said. "It was really frustrating me. But it pays off when it's supposed to, I guess."
Nebraska stole the momentum early. After falling behind 19-11 in the first half, the Huskers went on a 21-2 run to pull ahead 32-21.
They clung to a double-digit lead for most of the second half, too. But it's the Big 12, and Tech was poised for a comeback.
It happened with just less than 10 minutes to play, when the Red Raiders poured in 10 straight points to make the score 62-55. On NU's next possession, players scrambled to find a gap in the defense. With the shot clock winding down, NU sophomore guard Sek Henry was forced to take an 18-foot shot with a hand in his face.
He buried it, giving the Huskers a 64-55 advantage and control of the game. The Red Raiders never threatened after that.
Nebraska's improved offense wouldn't let them.
"We're seeing that we still can compete in this league," Anderson said. "We can play in this league."
