Do you have any pre-swim rituals you go through?



This is a little weird, but I collect animal hats - basically beanie hats with animal faces on them. So I have to pick out which one I want to wear each meet. If it's a big meet, then I wear my cat hat because it's my favorite, and I have to prop it up on my water bottle behind my block for moral support.



What's the funniest thing that's happened to you at a swim meet?



I've gotten up on the blocks with one of my animal hats on. That was pretty funny.



What was your attitude toward the Huskers, growing up in Boulder, Colo.?



In Boulder, everyone hates the Huskers, not just dislike, but really hates Nebraska. I'm not sure why. My parents went to CU, so they really didn't like Nebraska, and my brother wants to go to CU. I think it's because they think their football team is better, even though Nebraska has won way more games than CU. When I first considered school here, my dad said I could come, but I'd be banished from the family. When I was little, I wore CU cheerleading outfits, but I've now changed my ways and seen the light.



What's your least favorite part of swimming practice?



Jumping in the water at the beginning of practice and when we have to do timed 3000.



Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl?



I'm rooting for the Patriots because it'd be cool if they go undefeated this season. Also, I like their colors.
