Nebraska Women's Basketball vs. Colorado

3/3/09 7:52 PM

Welcome to Senior Night here at the Bob Devaney Sports Center! Tay Hester, the Huskers' only senior, was honored before tonight's game. The Huskers are looking for their third consecutive home victory as they take on the Buffaloes.  The Huskers will try to get some revenge after losing 75-73 at Colorado on Jan. 31. With 15:33 left in the first half, the Huskers and Buffaloes are tied 9-9. It's been a clean game so far with no turnovers on either side. Nebraska has already been at the free throw line four times and has made two of them. It's been a scoring battle. Nebraska and Colorado have consecutively scored back and forth, allowing five ties in the first nine minutes. NU's Catheryn Redmon broke the tying streak to put the Huskers up 15-13 with 11:17 left in the half. Colorado's...

Nebraska Women's Basketball vs. Iowa State

2/18/09 7:54 PM

Hello sports fans and welcome to another big game for Nebraska in the BIg 12. This is Jeff Straub and I will be giving you my insight as I watch the game from my living room. Traditionally, the Cornhuskers have not fared well in Ames, Iowa. Just last year, Nebraska defeated Iowa State to snap a 10-game losing streak against the Cyclones on the road. If the Huskers hope to come away with a pretty big win, they will need major contriibutions from Cory Montgomery, Yvonne Turner and Dominique Kelley. We're about three or four minutes from tipoff, so let's see which team comes out ready to play. The Huskers are wearing their red jerseys while ISU is sporting their home whites. NU's Kaitlyn Burke take a three early and ariballs. But Nebraska gets a quick turnover. Now Turner misses a three...

Womens Basketball Nebraska vs. Baylor

2/4/09 7:37 PM

Welcome to the Bob Devaney Sports Center for tonight's matchup between the Huskers and Lady Bears. I'm Jeff Straub and I will be providing insight to tonight's game. This game features a couple of teams who need to find their winning ways. Nebraska has lost its last three games and BU has lost its last two games. Baylor is ranked No. 8 in the country and the Huskers will be going for a big upset tonight.  Tipoff at 7:05 and Baylor wins the tip. After 90 seconds of good defense, BU gets on the board first with an easy pass and score down low. Cory Montgomery has taken the first three shots for NU and hasn't found the net. Solid block by Jessica Periago, a native of France. It's a 4-4 tie with almost four minutes gone. Montgomery starts out 1-4 from the field. Nebraska will need...

Nebraska (9-7, 0-3 Big 12) vs. Kansas (12-4, 1-2)

1/21/09 8:03 PM

Nebraska wins the opening tip off. (NU 0 - KU 2) After  a quick turnover, KU's Kriyten Boogaart gives the Jawyhawks a 2-0 lead. (NU 2 - KU 2) Nebraska comes right back down the court and ties it up with a lay-up by junior Cory Montgomery. Sophomore center Catheryn Redmon has an opportunity to give Nebraska an early lead, but misses the floater.  Redmon has struggled shooting from field since Big 12 Conference play began, shooting just 10-for-34. (2-4) After a flurry or possession changes, the Jayhawks take the lead with back-to-back free throws from Boogaart. (2-6) KU's Danielle McCray drills a jumper giving the Jayhawks the lead. (16:47 remaining) (6-6) NU comes right back and ties the game up at six a piece with fieldgoals from Montgomery and senior guard Tay Hester. ...
