Nebraska Tune Up

This is Max Olson from the Daily Nebraskan, live blogging from today's Nebraska Tune Up at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track. The No. 5 Husker men and No. 24 Husker women have welcomed 15 teams to town for its final prep meet before next weekend's Big 12 Conference Championships. Stick around as I'll be updating periodically with results and analysis. 4:15: The meet started at 12:30 today, so here are a ton of overdue updates: •    Huskers Eric Lund and Tyrell Ross went 1-2 in the men’s 60-meter hurdles, with Lund finished in 8.08 seconds for the win. NU’s Nikita Eades won the women’s event with a time of 8.59 seconds, and teammates Karyn LaCour and Megan Wheatley finished third and fourth, respectively. •   ...

Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational

Hello, I'm Max Olson from the Daily Nebraskan. Tonight I will be live blogging from the 34th annual Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track. The Huskers have invited 25 programs to town for the two-day meet, including the ranked programs from Michigan and Arizona. NU enters the day with the 16th-ranked men's team and 20th-ranked women's team in the nation. Stick around, as I'll be updating periodically from Devaney tonight and tomorrow. Day 1 5:20 p.m.: The day started at noon with the men's heptathalon, and Nebraska's Skyler Reisling is the current leader after four events with a score of 3178 points. They've already completed the 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put and high jump. Wichita State's Justin Taylor is currently second, down 104 points....

adidas Classic

This is Max Olson from the Daily Nebraskan.  Today I will be live blogging from the adidas Classic at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track. The team-scored meet starts in ten minutes and pits the Huskers against Florida State, Wichita State, Kansas, Alabama, Minnesota and Illinois. I'll be periodically updating this blog throughout the day with results, so stick around. 2:30 p.m.: Epley Bullock tried for a indoor personal-best jump in the women’s high jump of 6-feet, ¾ inches after successfully completing a 5-feet, 11¼-inch jump. Bullock made it over the bar and the crowd erupted. She jumped up and down on the mat in celebration and hasn’t stopped smiling since. The mark automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Indoor Championships. ...

Conference Challenge + NWU Invitational

This is Max Olson from the Daily Nebraskan, live blogging from today's track and field doubleheader at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Indoor Track.  In ten minutes we've got the Big 12 vs. Mountain West Conferene Challenge, followed later today by Nebraska Wesleyan's NWU Invitational.  I'll be updating this blog periodically throughout the day, so stick around. Conference Challenge  2:05 p.m.: We're underway at Devaney.  The day started off with the women's weight throw, high jump and pole vault, and the women's 5000 meter run has just begun.  Rachel Carrizales and Jen Webers are running in the 5000 for Nebraska. Competing for the Big 12 today are Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas State, and the Mountain West is represented by Air Force, Wyoming and Colorado...

Welcome to the live blog of the Holiday Inn Invitational. My name is Max Olson for the Daily Nebraskan.  The season-opening meet begins at 4:00 p.m. Central at the Devaney Indoor Track.  I'll be updating this blog periodically with results from all the day's events, so stick around and enjoy. Pregame: Greetings from Devaney, we're less than 5 minutes away from starting.  The 15th ranked Husker men and 24th ranked women look ready to go, and while most of the teams competing today are junior colleges and state colleges, we should have some nice competition.  The women will have their hands full competing against Minnesota, ranked No. 10 in the preseason polls. 4:20 p.m.:The field events are underway, including weight throw, high jump, long jump and pole vault. ...
