NIT Tournament: Nebraska vs. New Mexico

3/17/09 9:30 PM

This is Luke Nichols bringing you updates of tonight's NIT first round game between Nebraska and New Mexico.  Preview: The Huskers were hoping for bigger and better things than the NIT Tournament, but that's the hand they've been dealt and now must make the best of it.  Nebraska has won the NIT tournament title before, and even though they're just a sixth seed, they've proven this season they can compete with some of the best in the country, like Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.  It's do or die for NU, hope you enjoy. NM 7  NEB 4  Nebraska got out of the gates strong with back-to-back penetration layups from Harley and Dagunduro, but haven't scored since then.  The Lobos are on a 7-0 run right now behind five points from Tony Danridge.  15:45 remaining in...

Nebraska vs. Baylor

3/7/09 3:47 PM

Hello this is Luke Nichols bringing you updates of Nebraska's final regular season game today against Baylor in Waco, Tex. Preview-  Nebraska is trying to finish the season with its best conference record in a decade today.  The Huskers can finish 8-8 with a win over Baylor.  The two teams are eighth and ninth in the conference standings, so today could be a preview of Wednesday's first round game in the Big 12 Conference tournament.  Baylor entered the season with a lot of hyping because many thought they could finish in the upper half of the conference.  Even though they have disappointed, NU coach Doc Sadler said they're a scary team, especially if they're shooting well.  Enjoy the game.  BU 5  NEB 4  Ade Dagunduro has made...

Nebraska vs. Iowa State

3/4/09 6:50 PM

Hello and welcome to the Daily Nebraskan's live blog of tonight's matchup between the Huskers and the Cyclones. My name is Kris Knowlton and I'll be posting updates and insights from the game throughout the night so make sure you stick with us and enjoy the game. PREGAME: Tonight is the final home game for Nebraska seniors Ade Dagunduro, Steve Harley, Paul Velander and Nick Krenk. It will be interesting to see if these guys come out with some extra intensity on senior night. Nebraska is in a must-win situation tonight against a team they stack up well against. "We have to win," NU coach Doc Sadler said earlier this week. Nebraska will not recieve an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament, but this game and Saturday's matchup against Baylor are important for seeding into...

Nebraska vs. Kansas State

2/28/09 7:10 PM

This is Luke Nichols bringing you live udates of tonights Nebraska vs. Kansas State game in Manhattan, Kan.  I'm unable to attend the game, so i'll be updating while I watch on TV. Preview- Nebraska was in the hunt for a possible NCAA tournament birth, but a loss at Kansas and another loss to Texas A&M, in which NU blew an 18 point lead has put that thought on the back burner.  The Cornhuskers blew out Kansas State earlier in the season, but the Wildcats won six straight games after that to position themselves in the upper tier of the Big 12 Conference.  Now they've lost two of their last four games and find themselves in a tie for fifth place.  Both teams are jockeying for a good seed in the Big 12 tournament, and Kansas State has a much more realistic shot at...

Nebraska vs. Texas A&M

2/24/09 9:40 PM

Welcome to the live blog of Nebraska's game tonight against Texas A&M TAMU 5, NU 4: A dunk and a 3-pointer account for Texas A&M's points so far. NU guard Steve Harley is struggling early in this one and has missed two open jumpers so far. NU 14, TAMU 12: Paul Velander and Ryan Anderson have hit 3-pointers to give Nebraska the lead, but the Aggies have answered after every big play for the Huskers. Nebraska is really struggling with it's transition defense right now. NU coach Doc Sadler is trying to give TAMU a full-court press, but the Aggies are breaking it and getting easy buckets inside the paint in transition. 11:11 left in the first half. NU 23, TAMU 18: The home rims are certainly being kind to the Huskers tonight. Ryan Anderson scores by flipping the ball up from...
