Fans cheer on Omaha natives The Faint from the front row. Many diehards braved the sweltering heat of the sold-out show. Despite being $2 a bottle, water sold quickly.

The Faint frontman Todd Fink sings to a full house during the band's sold-out show at the Sokol Auditorium in Omaha on Saturday night.

Once again, The Faint brought an unbelievable show to Omaha's Sokol Auditorium Saturday night. The band opened with "Agenda Suicide" from its album "Danse Macabre" and the dancing began.

The Faint's stage presence was striking, and the black and white projector screen of their shadows completed the package.

The Faint toured with Jaguar Love, whose lead singer boasts a screeching voice, and kicked off its tour July 27 in Des Moines, Iowa.

"The lead singer's voice is hard for some to handle, but the lyrics are so good," Faint keyboardist Jacob Thiele said of the band's touring partner.

Omaha was the band's last stop on the tour, and the show quickly sold out.

Last year, The Faint added an additional Omaha show because of its automatic sellout. This year, the band was unable to because it's starting its European tour Monday to promote its new album, "Fasciinatiion".

"The album is more mature and is easier to dance to," Thiele said.

The album seems to be toned down compared to previous albums. The new songs have a fresh sound but are not necessarily easier to dance to. At times, I found it harder to dance to because the songs on "Fasciinatiion" lack the pounding pulse aspect of the other albums' songs.

The crowd seemed to feel the same way. Each time the band played a song from "Wet From Birth" or "Danse Macabre," the crowd went insane.

When The Faint played a song from "Fasciinatiion", the crowd would take a break from rowdy dancing.

The best songs to dance to on the new album are "The Geeks Were Right" and "Get Seduced."

Nathan Siahpush, a University of Nebraska at Omaha civil engineering major, went to the show and said it was awesome.

"Their music is perfect for the Sokol atmosphere," he said.

The Omaha native band recently broke away from Saddle Creek records and started its own label, blank.wav.

When asked about the new label, Thiele said every member would give different reasons for leaving Saddle Creek.

"Starting our own label had a lot to do with the digital age and lowering production costs," he said.

The spelling of "Fasciinatiion" started with a broken "I" key on lead vocalist Todd Fink's keyboard. The "I" key broke, so Fink pound ed

on the keyboard and put too many I's in "Fasciinatiion." The Faint liked the look of it, so the extra I's remained in the album title.

"The way we use technology is unique," Thiele said. "We try to do things that haven't been done before."

Overall, The Faint met my expectations and put on an amazing show, but it was their old songs that made the concert.
