My Morning Jacket – I had never heard their stuff, was anticipating checking them out, and found I was not too impressed.
Favorite aspect of the festival:
The combination of big names and up-and-comers all in one place.
Least favorite aspect of the festival:
The crowds, the sunburn I acquired, the fact that my back hurt and the crowds.
Favorite aspect of Austin itself:
The city is incredibly accommodating to the festival and festival goers. And, there are bats under the bridge at dusk!
Least favorite aspect of Austin itself:
A large pizza delivered to our hotel room cost $24.50, and every night we were disappointed to find Steven Seagal movies on our free HBO.
Strangest moment of the festival:
Singing "With a Little Help From My Friends" with two drunken middle-aged women also waiting in the taxi line. That and the fact that we shared the cab with them.
