After going down within the first few snaps against Nevada on Saturday and sitting out the rest of the game, junior defensive tackle Ty Steinkuhler made it back on the field for the second straight day Wednesday afternoon. Although NU coaches worked him into some practice drills, the 6-foot-3, 285-pound junior is still questionable to play on Saturday at Wake Forest. "He came out on the field and worked a little bit," NU Coach Bill Callahan said. "His status remains the same. It will be day to day."
While the offensive line was able to rotate in several players during Saturday's victory, offensive line coach Dennis Wagner said that wouldn't always be the case.
On Wednesday, the unit focused mostly on individual improvements, something Callahan stressed at the beginning of the week.
"We're taking one day at a time and just trying to get better every day," Wagner said. "Each guy has their own things to work on, and that's what Coach Callahan challenged the team to do this week was, what can you do get better each day? Take each play at a time and each practice at a time."
